Several generations of campers have worshipped, studied, prayed and played on our grounds. The gift of this beautiful natural setting has been passed on to us. We pledge to pass it on for current and future generations so that more and more children, youth, and adults can receive the blessings of spending time in this special place.
To help create more opportunities for persons to experience the peace God desires for our world and to pass on the legacy of Buckhorn to future generations, we envision a new multipurpose building.
It will be a place to learn and worship in the spirit of peace as well as create, work and play for peace.
The new multipurpose center will house a full-sized gymnasium, (complete with basketball and volleyball) meeting and class rooms, and restrooms. It will have a capacity of 350 persons for worship or other gatherings. Construction on this new structure should be completed by early 2009. Fundraising for the project includes tax-deductible contributions both large and small and can be made to Buckhorn Camp.
We celebrate God’s rich diversity of creation, where each person has inestimable worth in God’s sight. We promote peaceful relationships and communities where wholeness of body, mind, and spirit is affirmed and pursued. All groups committed to these values and to making the world a more peaceful, just, and harmonious place are welcome to share in the experience of Buckhorn. The diversity of our recurring groups demonstrates our
commitment to openness.
Buckhorn Camp users include religious groups such as Christians, Buddhists, and Hindus, civic groups such as Soroptimists and Charity Leagues, men’s and women’s recovery groups, holistic health groups, high school bands and choirs. Maybe a group you belong to can benefit from an experience at Camp Buckhorn.
